The time has come for all Year 9 students to start thinking about which GCSE options they would like to study
as they enter their Key Stage 4 phase of the curriculum. We know that this is an important part of a child’s
education but this year has been made all the more difficult by the current lockdown situation. To assist
both parents and students we have set up numerous remote events to help make this decision making
process a little easier and to inform students of the choices that they have available to them. These events
are listed below:-
Progress Check Reports w/c 25th January 2021 – Latest progress check available to parents via Go4schools.
Options booklet – 29th January 2021 – A comprehensive guide to the Key Stage 4 Curriculum on offer for
2021 is provided to each student. An options letter will also be sent to each student advising them of the
Options form released – 5th February 2021 – Forms will be emailed home to parents. Please ensure you
sign the document where indicated to confirm the choices selected and ensure that the subjects are
ranked in order from 1 -4.
Options taster day – 12th February 2021 – Students will get the opportunity, P1 to P5 to try out the
subjects on offer before making an informed decision. This is event will take place remotely via TEAMS,
more information will follow.
Options form due in before – 1st March 2021 - All forms must be completed and submitted by this date.
Please post the forms back to school addressed to Mrs Willcocks or pop them in the post box at the front
of school (to the right of the main doors). Please ensure that your son/daughters name is clearly visible
and both students and parents have signed the document confirming the selections.
