We wish to make you aware that the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) has published a report on the Financial Management and Governance Review that they conducted of Stratton Education Trust during the summer holidays. As a consequence of this review the ESFA have issued the Trust with a financial notice to improve (FNtI). These issues are historic and we have been in the process of addressing them for some months and have already acted upon a number of the concerns raised with tangible results. We have been in discussions with the EFSA for some time and were not able to share this until the dialogue with EFSA was completed and they sent us their official letter and made it public. You will find copies of both the review report and the Financial Notice on the school’s website.
We are making good progress as a school and are very appreciative of the support of staff and parents. It was particularly pleasing to hold the recent Parent Forum and listen to the feedback from parents about the school and its leadership and we will keep you updated as to future progress.
We would like to reassure all parents that the FNtI letter will not materially impact upon the day-to-day operation of the school. Like all schools, we are facing difficult financial times with reduced budgets and we have the added challenge of fewer student numbers due to the demographic dip in children coming through the system locally. We remain committed to our core purpose of providing the best for all our students.
Yours sincerely
