School partial closure update (18-3-2020)

Dear Parents/Carers

The announcement this afternoon by the Prime Minister, clearly contained some extremely significant updates. We will now have to wait for the details in order to develop an appropriate plan and will update you as soon as possible. We have been receiving these messages at the same time and in the same way as the rest of the nation so have not been able to plan or update in advance.

The Headlines are:

1. Schools will be closed from Monday for most students until further notice.

2. They will remain open for vulnerable children and those of key workers - definitions of each to be confirmed.

3. Exams will not happen in May / June - but no details as to what this will actually mean in practice.

4. Provision to be made for those in receipt of Free School Meals.

We remain partially open on Thursday to Years 11, 12  and 13 and will confirm plans for Friday during the day on Thursday. We will continue to update you as information from the government emerges and our plans develop. Information regarding our current status is on the school website:  https://www.stratton.beds.sch.uk/ and will be update whenever there are changes.

Thank you all for your ongoing support and cooperation - it is much appreciated.

Yours faithfully,

Roz Hodges

Principal
