Regular school attendance is vital if students are to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them in law.  We encourage students to aim for 100% attendance and the minimum attendance target for each student at Stratton is 96%. Attendance that falls below 96% is not considered to be regular attendance and we will monitor the absences of these students closely, and intervene as necessary, to support improved attendance.

We would also like to reassure parents that there is no requirement to keep a child off school for 48 hours after a bout of sickness. At Stratton we would  expect a child to return to school as soon as they feel well enough to do so. This will help to minimise stress and anxiety that may be caused due to missed work and loss of social interactions with peer groups during a spell of absence .
